INTRODUCING ME...

"Be yourself...everyone else is already taken."
- OSCAR WILDE

My name is Emily and I am currently 18 years old. I am in my second year of college and studying Level 3 Photography – Art and Design. Through this course, I am hoping to develop the photography skills that I already possess and adapt them to any new challenges that I shall face.
Photography is one of my main interests as well as fantasy novels, mythology, Arthurian legend and writing. I am a massive Tolkien fan, of both the films and the books. At the moment, I am currently reading the first book: The Fellowship of the Ring and I love it...although at the present time, I haven't really got very far! I am also a huge Harry Potter fan, having read all the books and watched all the films over a million times each! I also love watching shows. Some of my favorites are: Carnival Row, The Umbrella Academy and Supernatural. When I was in high school, My first real experience with photography was in high school when I took it for a GCSE in my final year. My project was on 'Fairytales' and I based the shoot on fairytales such as 'Sleeping Beauty' and 'Red Riding Hood'.
Something I Love Final Outcome image
This is my final outcome for my 'Something I Love' shoot. I edited it to make the shadow a little darker and the ring a little lighter in order for them to stand out. I wanted it to be obvious that I had a love of books and reading.
Studio Lighting Final Outcome image
This is my final outcome. It has been edited in Photoshop as I wanted the colors to pop and stand out a little more as I thought that they were a little too dull. A good thing about the photo is that the colours do stand out and they are really bright and the first thing that you really notice about the image. A bad thing is that I think the pink on the side of my model's face looks a little "too" edited to the extend where it might look a little fake.
Black & White Final Outcome image
This is my 'Black & White' final outcome. I am very happy with it and I love the contrast between the clouds and the sky, with the tress in the foreground. I wanted it to be darker and have that really high contrast to make the shadows more prominent. If I had to do it again, I would take more photo at different times of the day and create a time lapse of different times of the evening, with all the changing light.
Macro Final Outcome image
This is my 'Macro' final outcome. I am very happy with it, I really love how you can see the reflection of the trees in the centre of the lens and how you can see all the detail of the lens itself. It took me a long time to get the image as the camera get going out of focus and wouldn't take the image so I had to get the right distance away from the mirror. I edited it a little to get rid of the dust particles on the lens.
Going for a Walk Research image
For my 'Going for a Walk' photoshoot, I wanted to focus on something completely different so I decided to do it on how dogs see the world. In order to do this, I looked it up on Google and saw how scientists have created technology in order for us to see how dogs really see their own surroundings. I then went out and took photos of the fields and trees and then edited them to match how dogs would see it.
Fast or Slow Final Outcome image
For my final outcome, I edited the image to darken the background and change the hue of the light. I wanted them to resemble something really different and almost otherworldly. One thing that I love about the photo is that the light movement has been caught in a way that makes it look almost fuzzy, not blurred but like fuzzy and then separate strands of light almost look like strands of hair.
