Jack Hicks - Jack Hicks is a freelance photographer who specialises in creative lighting. His mostly consists of female models with extremely bright and vivid lighting. The image below was clearly taken in the studio, through the plain background and the use of creative lighting. If this image had been taken in an exterior location, the effect would not have been the same use the enclosed space of the studio has allowed the lighting to bounce off the walls. I think that Hicks has just used the studio lights with the gels over them to create the colours and maybe a white light in front of the model as there is evidently the use of a plain light as it has reflected off the model, either that or he had used a flash. The shutter speed would have been at a 'normal' speed so about 1/200 of a second to prevent any camera shake. There is a shallow depth of field as the model is in focus, and yet so is the backdrop. The ISO would have been quite low as, due to the brightness of the studio lights, a high ISO would have made the image completely or near to white and wouldn't have picked the model up. I think that the photographer is trying to communicate that there are many different levels of someone's personality. I like the use of light in the image and i like how the two colours merge together and how it blends in with her hair and outfit.
